I've tried using a computer font for my lettering, but have found it to be too uniform. Often I need to fill some extra space or squish the letters together just a bit and I can do that much more nicely with hand drawn letters. They also give a nice organic feel to my comic. I treat the letters as part of the drawing and take my time to make them look as decent as I can. The rest of the comic is also initially hand drawn with pencil, inked in, then scanned and tweaked in Photoshop. I'd say the whole thing takes about 2 hours do draw from start to finish, if I have my concept worked out in a rough draft. And guess what? The ideas are coming to me much easier this time around. Back about 5 years ago I'd sometimes spend three days trying to come up with an idea. If none would come in time I would have to settle for an idea that I wasn't really happy with. Now I sit down and think for a few minutes and voila! The ideas start sprouting right off the cuff. I've gotta credit that to divine inspiration for sure.
